CBSE Class 12 Result Date: Exam Controller Responds To Rumours, Shares Expected Timeline

The wait for more than 18 lakh students is almost over. As the excitement about the CBSE Class 12 Result 2026 grows, social media is full of rumors about technical problems and "surprise" release dates.

Recently, Sanyam Bhardwaj, the CBSE Controller of Examinations, talked about these issues to clear the air. He made it clear while students can expect their marksheet. This is all the information you need.

The Expected Timeline: When will the results be available?

There were rumors that results might be delayed because of technical problems, but Mr. Bhardwaj has called these claims "far from facts."

Statements from the government say:

Expected Date: The results will probably be announced in the third week of May 2026.

The Trend: In the past, CBSE has announced Class 12 results in the second week of May. But the board is keeping up a steady pace of evaluation to make sure everything is correct.

Faster Evaluation: It's interesting that the On-Screen Marking (OSM) system has made the process easier. The evaluation period used to last 12 days, but it has been cut down to about nine days. This gives people hope that the results could come a little earlier than the expected mid-May window.

Requirements for Passing and Grace Marks

The passing requirements are still very strict for the 10.2 lakh boys and 8.3 lakh girls who took the tests from February 17 to April 10.

33% Rule: To pass, students must get at least 33% of the total marks, as well as 33% in both the theory and practical parts.

Grace Marks: The board still gives 1 or 2 grace marks to students who are very close to passing.

Compensatory Marks: If there are mistakes in question papers (like typos), students will get compensatory marks so that no one is unfairly hurt.
